Luna Peak Foundation is a non-profit supporting the cancer and grief communities through story-sharing books, interactive workbooks, community building events, and online support resources.
Luna Peak Foundation was founded by Gracelyn Bateman and Melody-Lomboy Lowe. The niece-aunt duo both come to the field with a personal connection to supporting cancer and grief survivors. After losing her father at age 26, Gracelyn’s priority has been to uplift survivor stories within the grief community by creating a broader conversation around how society deals with loss. Gracelyn is certified by the David Kessler Grief Educator program, Going with Grace End-of-Life Training program with Alua Arthur, and a member of the National End of Life Doula Alliance. Melody was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia at age six and has been a cancer warrior ever since, setting her on a course to help newly diagnosed cancer patients. At a young age she spoke nationally for various cancer charities, helping to raise money for cancer research and now volunteers as a counselor for camps for children with cancer. Luna Peak Foundation donates books to hospitals, hospice and palliative care centers, retirement facilities, pediatric oncology wards, therapist offices, and support groups.
“BEYOND GRIEF: Snapshots of Life After Loss“ is on view at Ma’s House from February 4th – March 25th, 2023 by appointment.
