“Coalescence: Stories & Visions of the East End” – A solo exhibition featuring Sag Harbor artist Michael A. Butler

Ma’s House is pleased to present Coalescence: Stories & Visions of the East End,” a solo exhibition featuring Sag Harbor artist and historian Michael A. Butler. The paintings on view offer windows into the blended cultural experiences on the East End through depicting historic moments in time and crafting visions of the future. The opening reception is Sunday, May 5, from 5:30 – 7:30 pm. The exhibition will run from Sunday, May 5—Saturday, June 29, 2024.

 

Michael A. Butler is an artist, historian, humanitarian who continues to leave his mark on Sag Harbor. Butler has been on the board of the Eastville Community Historical Society for over 20 years, serving as president, vice president, and recording secretary. He is also the chairperson of the St. David AME Zion Church cemetery, a member of East Hampton’s Anti-Bias Task Force, a lifetime member of the NAACP, as well a former board member of the East End AIDS Wellness Project and a former member of the Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreation Center.

 

 

Coalescence is on view by appointment at Ma’s House from May 5–June 29, 2024.
