‘Counterpart’ – A Group Exhibit at Ma’s House | July 20 – September 16
July 29 @ 8:00 am - September 16 @ 5:00 pm
Announcing ‘Counterpart’ at Ma’s House!
Ma’s House is pleased to present “Counterpart”, a group exhibition featuring six artists exploring identity and the self through the lens of relationships. Whether in relation to family, culture, community, or to oneself, each artist shares a visual expression of the mirror and hidden aspects of the self. Exhibiting artists include Isabella Fernanda, Edward Gia, Julie Anne Lee, Jordan Ramsey Ismaiel, and Tiffany J Sutton.
As an extension of the indoor exhibition, artist Pauline Leilani Badamo will debut her new outdoor sculpture, “Ho’ohokukalani” which depicts the Hawaiian creation story through hand-blown glass and metal. Badamo shares this work as a hopeful beacon for those who have ever lost a child and are healing from loss.
An opening reception will be held on Saturday, July 29th, from 5–7pm. An artist talk with Pauline Leilani Badamo will take place on Sunday, September 10th from 12–1pm. The exhibition will run Saturday, July 29th –Saturday, September 16th.
Badamo’s, “Ho’ohokukalani“, is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrant Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor and the New York State Legislature, and administered by The Huntington Arts Council.
