Land Acknowledgment Discussion at Ma’s House

November 9 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Join Long Island Children’s Museum on Wednesday, November 9 from 6-7 pm as we dig deeper into the topic of land acknowledgments with Artist, Educator, and Tradition Bearer from the Shinnecock Nation, Denise Silva-Dennis, and Anthropological Archaeologist Allison McGovern, PhD. Take part in the conversation as we look at what happens after a land acknowledgment has been made, how land acknowledgment can be multigenerational, and more.

This conversation will take place at Ma’s House, a BIPOC Art Studio based on the Shinnecock Indian Reservation in Southampton, New York. You may join virtually as well by clicking the link in our bio to register to receive a zoom invitation.

This community conversation is made possible by funding from Humanities New York.
