Meet Luna Peak Foundation | ZOOM Presentation

February 23 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us by Zoom on Thursday, February 23, 7-8pm to meet the founders of Luna Peak Foundation and learn more about our current exhibition, BEYOND GRIEF: Snapshots of Life After Loss. Through portraits, mementos, stories and advice, BEYOND GRIEF, explores how a diverse array of grievers navigate and rebuild after a life-changing loss.

Luna Peak Foundation is a non-profit supporting the cancer and grief communities through story-sharing books, interactive workbooks, community building events, and online support resources. Founded by Gracelyn Bateman and Melody-Lomboy Lowe. The niece-aunt duo both come to the field with a personal connection to supporting cancer and grief survivors. After losing her father at age 26, Gracelyn’s priority has been to uplift survivor stories within the grief community by creating a broader conversation around how society deals with loss. Gracelyn is certified by the David Kessler Grief Educator program, Going with Grace End-of-Life Training program with Alua Arthur, and a member of the National End of Life Doula Alliance. Melody was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia at age six and has been a cancer warrior ever since, setting her on a course to help newly diagnosed cancer patients. At a young age she spoke nationally for various cancer charities, helping to raise money for cancer research and now volunteers as a counselor for camps for children with cancer. Luna Peak Foundation donates books to hospitals, hospice and palliative care centers, retirement facilities, pediatric oncology wards, therapist offices, and support groups.”
