Shinnecock Community Bird Walk with Haley Scott

January 27 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

Free

Shinnecock Tribal Members are invited to join birder Haley Scott of the Unkechaug Nation for a community birding walk on Saturday, January 27th, at 10:30 am! Birding is the simple act of enjoying wild birds. The practice of birding can be beneficial to both our mental and physical health and raises critical awareness of our feathered relatives and the local habitats that they call home. During this walk, you will learn bird-watching basics, bird species identification by sight and sound, facts about bird migration and behaviors, and some Algonquian bird names!”

This event will occur at the Meadow Lane Boardwalk, 10 minutes from Shinnecock Reservation.

Free and open to all ages (RSVP required). We have ten binoculars on hand; please bring a personal pair if you have one!

We will meet at the Shinnecock BGC / Family Preservation Building at 10:30 am and take the BGC van or carpool in personal vehicles from there.

Co-sponsored by the Boys & Girls Club of Shinnecock Nation & Ma’s House.
