Ma’s House is excited to announce our first open call for exhibitions! Apply now to have your work considered for solo, two-person, and group exhibitions in the gallery and outdoor spaces. Our first open exhibition slot begins in September with Director of Curation, Brianna Hernández, curating exhibitions year-round, each 6-8 weeks long. The deadline for the September slot is August 28th.

Celebrating Preservation Excellence – Award & Art Exhibit to Benefit Ma’s House

Mark your calendars! 🗓 On September 11, we’ll be at the Custom House in Sag Harbor celebrating and hosting art and artists from @mashousestudio, a recipient of a 2022 Preservation Award for Organizational Excellence. 🏆 Ma’s House is a non-profit and communal space for art and learning based on the Shinnecock Indian Reservation, featuring a residency program for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), studios and library. Works by Ma’s House resident artists will be on view and Custom House will be open for self-guided tours. 🖼 This event is FREE and open to the public!

Brianna L. Hernández – ‘Beloved Arts’ | A Solo Exhibit & Opening – June 18th 5-7pm

Shinnecock, NY – Ma’s House is also pleased to present a solo exhibition of June resident artist Brianna L. Hernández. “Beloved Arts“ will run from June 18th – July 1st, 2022, with an opening reception on Saturday, June 18th, from 5 – 7 pm. The exhibition will feature new and recent works in the gallery and outdoors as part of the artist’s series on end-of-life care. Visitors are encouraged to meet the artist now through June 30th, with visits by appointment only. Brianna is a Chicana artist, curator, educator, and death doula based on the Shinnecock Nation. Open Studios & Coloring Night with Elan Cadiz – Thursday, March 31st @ 5pm

Please join us in welcoming our current Ma’s House artist-in-resident Elan Cadiz! Elan will be leading a public ‘open studios’ this coming Thursday, March 31st at 5:00 pm which will debut her new works completed at Ma’s House along with inviting volunteers to help color in her line works as part of her new portfolio.
