Please join us in welcoming June resident artist Nanibah “Nani” Chacon! @nanibah Nani is a Dine (Navajo) and Chicana artist, most recognized as a painter and muralist. Chacon was born in Gallup, New Mexico, and grew up on both the Navajo reservation and in New Mexico. She is currently based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Chacon’s most notable works have been within the public arts sector, in which she has a cumulative experience of over 20 years. Her practice includes other mediums and a developed painting, installation, illustration, and design aptitude.
For our public program, please join us Friday, June 30th at 6pm at @thechurchsagharbor for an artist talk with Nani Chacon. Nani will be in conversation with the lead artist of Ma’s House, Jeremy Dennis. All proceeds ($10 tickets) go towards Ma’s House, and Shinnecock Tribal Members are free to attend.
